Umm Neil is involved with a lot of shit and he started Farm Aid years ago promoting an end the problems we have now.
They are both incredible musicians and Bob Dylan not a month ago was at Neil Youngs place to see where he was born. they are musical equals in my eyes.
Young had the most passion tho thats for sure
and you know why that is tho, its culture.
Bob was American where you no matter what you have to make money and be big, thats the American dream.
Neil was Canadian and like all Canadian musicians even now are mostly all heart and soul.
there are gray areas tho Im not saying all Americans are like that and same with Canadians, some just want to make money.
but you are right I see Dylan's aim being fame but I mean Neil is almost just as big and recognized so I think the better muscians is Neil.
I think Bob Marley is an awesome musican but brilliant song writing? Maybe as in the music itself, definatly not lyrics. But that's reggae for me, the lyrics don't really go to deep for me. It's more religion-music. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE Bob Marley, but he has nothing on Neil or Bob in my mind. I'd say he's a bit overrated. But without doubt ... he makes some kickass tunes. Reggae relaxes the mind
ya he followed the religion and messages he wrote about thats how he died.
He believed in everything he preached and was a brilliant song writer.
So what if he was all dub, Im sure its what he wanted.
Music isnt a talent show, its not how technical someone can play if thats your case go listen to fucking dragonforce. They cant play their own music but its crazy.
Bob Marley represents peace and love and he did that til he died.
